1295 Ships at Ere?li in 6 Months

1295 SHIPS AT EREGLI PORTS IN SIX MONTHS

Chamber of Shipping Karadeniz Ere?li General Director ?rfan Erdem who talked at Council Meeting of Chamber of Shipping (DTO) said there was 1295 ships which had anchored at the ports in the borders of Ere?li in 6 months.

?rfan Erdem who talked in Council Meeting for July of Chamber of Shipping (DTO), analyzed the last events and developments in Ere?li Zone.

?rfan Erdem, Chamber of Shipping (DTO), General Director said that 26 ships were built in 5 shipyards in 6 months and he added that 3 of these ships were for Norway Shipping Companies, other 23 ships were for Turkish Ship owners.

Apart from this he mentioned about Hatice Erdem Anadolu Maritime High School and he told there was 15 students had graduated from Machine Department and 21 students had graduated from Deck Department in total 36 new maritime members, and they would help to those students for joining to TÜDEV (Turkey Maritime Education Foundation).

In first 6 months of 2007, there are 1295 ships, which includes 574 foreign flagged and 721 Turkish flagged, anchored at the ports in this zone. Karadeniz Ere?li Chamber of Shipping (DTO), Department Manager ?rfan Erdem said: "These ships unloads of 4 million 913 thousand tones material, and loads a million 474 thousand tones material in this time period."
