Daewoo Engineering & Construction has signed a contract worth QR2.2 billion ($610.6 million) to develop a shipyard in Qatar.

Daewoo Engineering & Construction has signed a contract worth QR2.2 billion ($610.6 million) with Qatar Petroleum (QP) to develop a shipyard in Qatar.

In a filing with the Korea Exchange, Daewoo put the value of the order at 895.1 billion won ($671 million).

The project would be completed by the end of December 2009, the Seoul-based company said.
