DB Schenker Arkas, a company that offers complete logistics services to its customers, has strengthened its position as one of the leading freight forwarders in the sector by handling 41,000 TEU of sea shipments in 2008.

Through a partnership established with Arkas in Turkey in 1995, DB Schenker combined its strong international network with Arkas" experience. DB Schenker achieved a total transportation volume of 41,000 TEU last year, an increase of 15 percent over 2007. DB Schenker Arkas offers significant cost advantages to customers with its global network and provides rapid, dependable solutions for import and export shipments with its partial container services. These partial shipments represent economical alternatives for customers who do not have the capacity to ship full containers of goods, whether it is for imported cargo coming to Istanbul and Izmir from Hong Kong and Shanghai, or whether it is export goods from Izmir destined for the Far East or from Istanbul to both Israel and the Far East.

DB Schenker Arkas" Seafreight Department carries out transportation of full and groupage containers and bulk cargo to Turkish ports as well as ports around the world, in addition to offering its customers documentation service, customs clearance, container handling in the port and also inland transportation. With 88,000 employees in almost 2,000 offices around the world, DB Schenker offers complete logistics services to all of Turkey with close to 400 personnel in six branches in Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Mersin, Ankara and Gaziantep, as well as sales offices in Eski?ehir, Denizli and Antalya.
