Aker Yards to build two vessels for Maritima
Two more bunker tankers for Maritima, France. Aker Yards has signed a contract for the construction of two bunkering tankers for delivery in October 2008 and January 2009. The two vessels will be sister vessels to those ordered by Maritima in August 2006.
The two merchant vessels will be built at Aker Yards in Braila, Romania and are ordered by Maritima in France. Maritima is owned by Compagnie Fluviale de Transport (CFT), a French leading company in European river transport, specializing in bunkering for ocean-going vessels.
Total value of the order is approximately EUR 22 million. The contract also includes an optional agreement for another two sister vessels.
Aker Yards has previously delivered three similar vessels to Maritima in 2005 and 2006, and has another two on order for delivery in 2008.
