A new ship named "Alfa" was presented by Split "Brodospas", an offshore towing, salvage and shipping company. The ship, worth 35 million US dollars, was built in Romanian shipyard "Damen Shipyards Galati" and arrived in Split two days ago.
The ship will engage in offshore supply, towing, anchor-handling, fire-fighting and oil- recovery operations. The ship has a length of 65 metres and a top speed of 15 knots.
A similar ship also produced in Romania should arrive in Split in two months.
Brodospas services include transport/supply of oil rigs with necessary materials, the towing of rigs on long and short routes and the positioning and anchoring of rigs.
The offshore services are rendered to many world oil companies.
