Anthony Veder orders gas carrier trio
Anthony Veder has signed a newbuilding contract for three 6,500 cu m LPG/Ethylene carriers. They will be built at Sekwang Heavy industries, South Korea and will be be delivered during the fourth quarter of 2011 and the first half of 2012. Options for further vessels of similar size have also been agreed.
The vessels will have a 'Clean Ship' notation for an environmental friendly operation and will be fitted with improved redundancy.
In line with Anthony Veder"s current ethylene carriers, they will also have a very high cooling capacity.
This expansion will increase the ethylene capacity of the 20 strong gas carrier fleet to 11 vessels.
Apart from gas tankers for the petrochemical and LPG market, Anthony Veder also operates a CO2 tanker and an LNG carrier.
