Asian Terminals orders two container cranes.
ASIAN Terminals, the Philippine terminal operator, has ordered two ship-to-shore container handling cranes from European manufacturer Liebherr to expand box handling capacity at its Manila South Harbor container terminal.
The two cranes, which will be capable of twin lifts of up to 60 tonnes, are due to be delivered by early 2011.
ATI gave no details about how much it was spending on the cranes, but vice-president Ernst Schulze said: ?We are investing now in preparation for greater volumes and even better services in the future."
The South Harbor Container Terminal has a capacity to handle 850,000 teu.
Asian Terminals also has a concession to manage the second phase of a container terminal at Batangas as well as operating Makar wharf at General Santos and the Mariveles grain terminal in Bataan.
