Cicek Shipyard in Turkey has just floated out the biggest chemical tanker ever built in Turkey. The 26,000-dwt Besiktas jutland was ordered by Besiktas Shipping of ?stanbul.

Cicek Shipyard in Turkey has just floated out the biggest chemical tanker ever built in Turkey. The 26,000-dwt Besiktas jutland was ordered by Besiktas Shipping of ?stanbul.

Cicek"s dry dock had to be excavated by an additional 30 to 40 metres for the project. The ship is slated for delivery in February 2008. Blocks for a 20,000-dwt chemical tanker for the Kaptanoglu group will now take the vessel"s place in the dry dock.

Cicek genaral manager Berke Cicek says that in December the yard will start cutting steel for the first 58,000-dwt supramax bulkers to be built in Turkey. The ships are being built for Bayraktar Shipping.
