Bolloré, CMA CGM and CHEC Win Kribi Container Terminal Concession

Bolloré, CMA CGM and CHEC Win Kribi Container Terminal Concession
A consortium formed by Bolloré Africa Logistics, French container line CMA CGM, and China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) has won a 20-year concession to operate the recently constructed container terminal at the port of Kribi in Cameroon.

With a 15-meter draught and direct access to the sea, the port of Kribi is the first in Cameroon with the capacity to handle 8,000 TEU container ships.

The Bolloré Africa Logistics / CMA-CGM / CHEC consortium will manage the container terminal, offering a 350m wharf built and equipped by CHEC. An additional 700m wharf is due to be built in Phase 2 of the port development, scheduled to be completed within the next five years.

CMA CGM will use the new terminal as a transshipment hub for the Gulf of Guinea region and Central Africa.

CHEC completed the Kribi Deepwater Port Phase I Project back in April 2015. The first phase included the construction of a breakwater and two container berths, dredging and land area backfilling, and the construction of relevant supporting facilities.
