Kuwait Transcontinental Shipping Co has signed a forwarding deal with Japan"s Kintetsu World Express, whereby it is KWE"s exclusive partner for moving cargo between Kuwait and worldwide destinations.
Mr Mikko Wieru, general manager of KTS says the collaboration allows KTS customers to benefit from the partner"s global network and strong links to Asia Pacific markets.
?"The expected volume growth from this deal will enable us to expand our market share which is in line with our strategic goal to consolidate our leadership position in Kuwait. We are also looking at opportunities to develop our Iraq business as well.?
Similarly KWE"s Director for South-East Asia and Middle East region, Mr Yoshinori Watarai, said having KTS - which has more than 30 years" experience - on board enables it to leverage local expertise and knowledge to enhance its competitive strengths in the Middle East Gulf region, particularly in areas of peacekeeping, disaster relief and oil and gas.

KWE, the world"s seventh largest forwarder, aims to become the premier agent in the inter-Asia and Pacific Rim markets and now employs more than 8,000 in 30 countries.
