French shipping giant CMA CGM Group revealed plans to assign one of its latest fleet additions, the 10,622 TEU CMA CGM TIGRIS, to the Port of Santos in Brazil.

As explained by the liner company, CMA CGM will be the first carrier to introduce a vessel of such a capacity in Brazil.

The CMA CGM TIGRIS will be added to the fixed-day and weekly SEAS2 service, with the first call at the Port of Santos set for February, 6th.

It will call 13 ports, connecting Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay to China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa within 90 days.

The CMA CGM TIGRI is equipped with the largest capacity in reefer plugs on such a ship, the vessel allows an unprecedented loading capacity of meat, poultry and fruits, some of Brazil most exported products. In addition, its structure responds to the draft constraints and Brazilian ports infrastructure, the company added.

“The introduction of the CMA CGM TIGRIS in Brazil is a major event for CMA CGM, and not only demonstrates the Group’s flexibility and adaptation to its clients’ needs, but also its development strategy and confidence on the Brazilian market. As the first shipping line to introduce the largest vessel capacity in the country, CMA CGM has been striving for excellence and has been constantly upgrading its activities on this trade,” said Jean-Yves Duval, Vice President Caribbean and Latin American Lines.
CMA CGM TIGRIS was delivered on December 23rd, 2014 in China.
