COUNTDOWN BEGINS FOR ARKAS' LOGISTICS CENTER
The Arkas Orhanl? Logistics Center, which opens in July, has been constructed at Orhanl?, Istanbul on 40,000 square meters of land and meets international standards for logistics.
Arkas provides transportation and integrated logistics services to customers with 23 vessels flying the Turkish flag, 471 rail cars, 400 truck tractors and indoor and outdoor storage terminals in 14 districts. Arkas is counting the days until the opening of a new storage and distribution center that will be equipped with advanced technology and equipment. Built on 40,000 square meters in Orhanl?, a district on Istanbul"s European side which has become a center for industry, commerce and logistics, the Arkas Orhanl? Logistics Center will open its doors to customers in July.
High volume and high-tech security measures
The Arkas Orhanl? Logistics Center is equipped with everything you expect from a logistics center operating at international standards that can offer storage, distribution and added-value logistics services. The ceiling height of the lower floor of the two-level center is 8.5 meters, while the ceiling level of the upper floor is 15 meters. Thanks to 50 bays equipped with hydraulic loading ramps, the logistics center ensures timely, problem free loading and unloading of cargo. Equipped with a dust-free, epoxy-coated floor, closed circuit security system and advanced fire-fighting systems featuring fire hydrants and sprinklers, the Arkas Orhanl? Logistics Center provides customers with effective security solutions.
Special areas for storage and distribution
The Arkas Orhanl? Logistics Center has been laid out according to customers" storage and logistics needs. In addition to areas at the center for ?Non-Bonded Storage Management? and ?Inventory Management and Added-Value Services?, there is a separate consolidation area for ?Istanbul Urban Distribution?. Customer inventories are tracked in the non-bonded storage management area with advanced technology and a warehouse software system, offering customers rapid access to information. At the Inventory Management and Added Value Services department, bar-coding, labeling, packaging, ironing (for textile products), quality control and finishing services can be customized to customer needs. The consolidation area is an ideal platform for scheduled citywide distribution. These characteristics make the Arkas Orhanl? Logistics Center a candidate for being one of Istanbul"s most important logistics locations.
