Egypt's big business: Suez Canal
Suez Canal revenues will hit 4bn US dollars by the end of the fiscal year 2007; 20 per cent higher than 2006.
The revenues over the last six months hit a 10 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2006, according to the Suez Canal Authority.
Head of the Canal Authority Ahmed Fadel will announce the exact figures in July at a press conference.
Over the last five months, some 8,143 vessels crossed the international waterway with total cargo of 335,290 million tonnes.
