The two RAzer 2960, two RAzer 2935 and four RAzer 2940 tugs are part of a major terminal expansion and fleet renewal program undertaken by Pelindo III in its operational territory. The RAzer 2960s and RAzer 2935s were built by PT Daya Radar Utama Shipyards in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the RAzer 2940s were built by PT Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyards in Surabaya, Indonesia.
These will be the first Robert Allan Ltd. tugs to be designed specifically to operate from major ports in Indonesia, including the new container port of Terminal Teluk Lamong, near Surabaya.
The two RAzer 2960 tugs are named: JAYANEGARA 401, JAYANEGARA 402, the four RAzer 2940 are the JAYANEGARA 307, JAYANEGARA 308, JAYANEGARA 309, JAYANEGARA 310, and the two RAzer 2935 are the JAYANEGARA 301, JAYANEGARA 302. These tugs are named after Jayanegara who was once a Javanese King and the second monarch of Majapahit empire.
JAYANEGARA tugs are believed to be the first series of harbor tugs in Indonesia to implement modern design features, and bring Indonesian Tug Fleet up to current standards.
The RAzer series tugs are high performance azimuthing stern-drive (ASD) tugs optimized for ship-handling within the confined spaces of busy ports. The design features a generous freeboard to ensure a high degree of stability, while keeping the superstructure low and well aft to enhance safe working under the flared hull of ships. The RAzer 2960, 2940 and 2935 are dimensionally the same vessel, but with different machinery.
The continuous main deck provides a low profile at the bow with enhanced fendering system specifically suited to operations in the region, including serving both smaller vessels and those with large flare at ends.

On trials, the tugs proved to be highly manoeuvrable and met or exceeded all performance expectations including ahead and astern bollard pull and speed, etc.
These tugs were designed and constructed to satisfy all applicable Rules and Regulations of Lloyds Register ✠ 100A1, TUG, ✠ LMC, UMS and Indonesian Flag.
The vessels have been outfitted to a high standard for the normal operating crew of 4, with accommodations provided for up to 10 persons. The Master and Chief Engineer’s cabins are located on the main deck, with two additional quadruple crew cabins located on the lower accommodation deck. The galley and mess room are also located on the main deck.
The deck machinery comprises a bow mounted ship assist hawser winch and a tow hook aft.
The main propulsion for the RAzer 2960 consists of a pair of Caterpillar C280-6 engines, each rated at 1850 bkW at 1000 rpm, and each driving a Schottel SRP 1515 Z-drive unit. The main propulsion for the RAzer 2940 consists of a pair of Caterpillar 3516B engines, each rated at 1379 bkW at 1200 rpm driving a pair of Schottel SRP 1012 Z-Drives. Each RAzer 2935 is powered by a pair of Caterpillar 3512C engines together with Schottel SRP1012 Z-Drives
Each of these RAzer tugs is fitted with an Off-Ship Fire-fighting system supplied by FFS. The system has a dedicated Caterpillar C18 pump engine, driving a FFS SFP250x350HD pump and two FFS 300LB monitors. The system is rated for 600 m3/hr at 125 mlc, with foam eductors.
