EMIRATES LAUNCHES 2 SERVICES
EMIRATES Shipping Line is set to launch two new services - the Gulf Indian-Subcontinent Africa Service (GIA) and the Africa Far-east Asia Service (AFA).
Emirates says in a statement: “The new GIA service offers a direct scheduled weekly service from the Indian Subcontinent & the Middle East to East Africa, providing one of the best transit times to East Africa.”
Port rotation of GIA is Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Jebel Ali, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Mombassa, Nhava Sheva.
The new AFA service connects East Asia to the two major ports in East Africa. It serves Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Dar Es Salaam, Mombasa. This service will use a combination of Emirates Shipping Line’s Hyper Galex service and the AFA service over Colombo
To cover both services the company is using six 1,100 TEU vessels. Emirates Shipping Line providing five of the vessels and it partner in the new services, TS Line, the other.
