MSC Fantasia Environmentally friendly cruiser from
MSC Cruises, whose Turkish agency is Arkas, is adding two cruisers to its fleet, the MSC Fantasia and MSC Serenata, the two largest vessels it has ever had built.
Construction on the MSC Fantasia continues at the Aker Shipyards in France and delivery is planned for November 2008, while the MSC Serenata is to be delivered in June 2009. The MSC Fantasia will introduce the cruise ship industry to numerous innovations. Its deadweight is 133,000 gross tons and it can carry 3971 passengers. One of the most significant innovations on the MSC Fantasia is the fact that it will be the first mega cruise ship with a private VIP area.
Entrance to the VIP area on the ship, which will be called MSC Happy Island and aims to provide customers with optimum service, will be restricted and a custom service team will be available at all times. The MSC Fantasia is an environmentally friendly cruise ship with 637 cabins, a 500-square-meter spa, a health center, 6000 square meters of restaurant area, swimming pools, a panoramic bar and 3D cinema.
The first environmentally-friendly cruise ship Another characteristic of the vessel is the fact that it is the first "environmentally friendly" cruise ship ever built. MSC Fantasia meets the environmental protection criteria of Bureau Veritas ISO 14001. The vessel has advanced water purification and thermostatic systems in every cabin that prevent unnecessary energy use.
