Yang Ming to launch Far East-Australia service
Taiwanese shipping giant Yang Ming Marine Transport has announced the launch of a new Far East to Australia shipping route.
The China-Korea-Australia Service will commence operations in May this year.
The new route is jointly operated by Yang Ming Transport, South Korea"s Hanjin Shipping, STX Pan Ocean and China"s Sinotrans Container Lines. The companies will deploy five 4,200 teu containerships for the 35-day round trip. Yang Ming will contribute one vessel, together with two from Hanjin Shipping and one each from STX Pan Ocean and Sinotrans Container Lines.
The ships will sail from Pusan to Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Kaohsiung, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and back to Pusan.
