MAERSK Line is removing nine containerships from the Asia-Europe trades as market prospects continue to deteriorate.
The Danish line confirmed on Friday that its AE8 service will be temporarily suspended from mid-November, but has made no decision about when it may be reinstated.Danish container shipping company Maersk Line has decided to reduce capacity on the routes between Asia and Europe as a result of a weaker-than-expected development in cargo transports from Asia to Europe and falling rates on container transports. The capacity reduction accounts for 10% of the company's capacity on the Asia-Europe routes.
