Grimaldi Lines expands its fleet
Grimaldi Lines will expand its fleet by adding five more Ro-Ro vessels worth 430 million dollars by 2011.
An order was recently placed with Hyundai Mipo in South Korea for 5 vessels with a length of 200 meters. These five vessels will have almost the same specifications as five vessels which are to be delivered to Croatia in 2008 and 2009 and the ten vessels currently in service.
The new vessels that were ordered will have a capacity of 25,000 deadweight tons, a speed of 21 knots and will be able to transport 2,000 linear meters of Ro-Ro cargo, 2,000 cars and up to 800 TEU of containers.
Equipped with 40-ton cranes, the vessel will be able to handle containers and oversized loads. In addition, cargo of up to 250 tons can be loaded with ramps on the aft section of the vessel.
These investments of new orders for vessels reflect Grimaldi's commitment to customer satisfaction and to maintaining the highest quality of service.
