HAMBURG GOES GLOBAL AT NEW YORK
GERMAN liner shipping company Hamburg Süd has announced that it is consolidating all of its liner services for the New York region with Global Terminal.
In a statement Hamburg Süd says: “The consolidation provides Hamburg Süd customers a single terminal location, thereby streamlining the delivery and pick-up of cargoes throughout the New York region.
Global Terminal currently handles Hamburg Süd’s weekly “Tango” service to South America’s East Coast while New York Container Terminal handles two other services. Company officials expressed thanks to New York Container Terminal Inc. for its past service.:
Commencing with the arrival/departure of the CSAV Rio Puelo (Voy. 30) on June 7, 2007, the “Samba” string of Hamburg Süd’s U.S. East Coast – South America East Coast service will call at Global. On June 26, 2007, Hamburg Süd’s weekly U.S. East Coast – South America West Coast service will also transfer to Global Terminal with the arrival/departure of the CCNI Punta Arenas (Voy. 719).
