Beginning in June 2007, Hapag-Lloyd will offer its new ABX service which will follow the rotation: Shanghai/ Ningbo/ Shekou/ Singapore/ Damietta/ Istanbul/ Constanta/ Odessa/ Izmir/ Damietta/ Singapore/ Shanghai route. This service will provide a rapid, dependable alternative for import and export shipments on the high volume Far East line.
Service provided by eight vessels
Eight vessels averaging 3,000 TEU will operate on this line, which will begin transporting goods from Shanghai at the end of June. Shipments will reach Shanghai in 25 days from Istanbul and in 24 days from Izmir.
Import shipments on this line will primarily consist of raw materials and all kinds of finished goods, while export shipments will mostly include glass goods, thread, blocks of marble, minerals and flour.
