Containerships are on course to handle a total of 225,000 TEU in 2008
Containerships plans to increase it's share of the Baltic Sea trade by developing new routes and offices. From October, 25 the line will have a new link calling at Ghent in Belgium.
A newly formed office ? Containerships Belgium NV will be responsible for operations and sales at the Belgian port. To be able to incorprate this additional port call, a tenth vessel has been added to the Containerships fleet of chartered and owned tonage ranging form 750 to 1000 TEU in capacity.
"This new service will allow us to fulfill our targets of 15% annual growth in volume and of course allow to maintain our profitablity" remarked Containerships CEO Sigurjon Markusson.
Containerships are on course to handle a total of 225,000 TEU in 2008. There are plans for a further increase in the fleet and calls at other, as yet undisclosed, ports in the beginning of 2009.
Containerships have also just opened a representative office in the Belarus capital of Minsk and are looking to open two more offices in other CIS countries in early 2009.
