Istanbul Tanker Event 2008

The Tanker Event will take place at the Swissôtel The Bosphorus in cosmopolitan Istanbul, the city where the continents as well as top shipping executives meet.

It will be the first time INTERTANKO's Annual Event will be taking place in Turkey, which is an important/strategic position in the Mediterranean, Russian, Middle Eastern area and, thus, of utmost importance for world oil and tanker trades.

A full 4-day programme has been scheduled again including various Focus Sessions covering the most important topics Tanker Owners face today as well as an informative Oil and Tanker Market Session with top speakers to provide delegates the very latest on market developments.

The 2008 Poseidon Challenge meeting will bring in some new top-level commitments to continuous improvement and to working together with other links in the chain of responsibility, and will follow-up on some of the specific commitments made in 2007. There will be a focus on the Human Element as the shipping industry seeks to 'raise the bar' even further, with a Toolbox Workshop session to help apply continuous improvement strategies in your company.

The vision of the Poseidon Challenge initiative is to encourage and inspire sectors, companies and people to work individually and more importantly together , not only to set new goals of excellence but also actually to achieve them.

This vision involves the continuous improvement of our own performance, or our company's performance and of the industry"s performance in striving to achieve the goals of zero fatalities, zero pollution, zero detentions.
