Kozmino exports almost 1 million tonnes.
The Russian Port of Kozmino in the Primorsk region handled over 900,000 tonnes of export oil at its terminals in January 2010, exceeding year on year figures. The port transshipped cargoes from nine tankers with a capacity from 100,000 to 150,000 tonnes.
On 1 February the final shipment of oil was loaded on a 100-tonne South Korea-bound Esteem oil tanker to be delivered to South Korea.
The designed logistics chain of the special marine seaport includes oil shipment by rail to Gruzovaya railway station at Kozmino port.
Then the crude oil, discharged from the tank cars near the village of Hmylovka, is to be transshipped to a depot near the village of Kozmino for storage and further loading on oil tankers for export.
The first stage of the project will have throughput capacity of 15 million tonnes of oil a year with the growth potential up to 30 million tonnes annually.
The tank farm, which has seven vertical steel tanks with floating roofs, holds 50,000 m3 and two vertical steel tanks of 10,000 m3. The first transshipment of oil from the terminal started on 28 December last year.
