Kusadasi Ports popular cruise destination

Kusadasi port of Aegean city of Aydin, which became a popular destination for international cruise liner companies, hosted nearly 145,000 passengers who arrived in the coastal town with 198 cruisers since March 2007.

The port, currently operated by Ege Ports, can host 10,000 transit passengers per day and 3-4 giant cruisers at the same time.

"The quality and passenger capacity of the cruiser liners that stop at our port keep improving with each passing year," said Aziz Gungor, Director General of Ege Ports, on Tuesday.

Gungor also stressed that they had the capability to furnish top-level services during the half-day trips of big cruisers to Kusadasi port.

"We are aware that our port is a display window of our country in cruise tourism. In this context, we see Mediterranean and South American cruiser ports as our rivals in this sector," Gungor affirmed.
