Bollinger launches first of ten Rigdon PSV's
M/V First and Ten, a state of the art Rigdon 4000 class PSV, was recently launched at Bollinger Shipyards Lockport, Louisiana facility.
The diesel electric vessel is the first of ten being built for Rigdon Marine at the Lockport yard.
They are based on the GPA 654 Class, designed by Guido Perla & Associates.
The vessels are 190 ft (57.95 m) x 46 -ft (14.00 m) x 18 ft (5.50 m), DP-2 with 4,000 bbl liquid mud and 5,500 cu.ft. of bulk capacity.
The design provides increased carrying capacity and greater operating efficiency, compared to similar sized vessels, while at the same time allowing simplified construction methods to reduce construction cost.
