Marport increases the number of its RTGs to 35
Five of ten new RTGs (Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes) ordered by Marport have been delivered and installed during the summer, while the other five RTGs have reached Marport and are ready for installation.
One RTG will operate at the main terminal and nine units will operate at the west terminal, thus increasing the number of RTGs at Marport Terminals to 35. RTGs weigh 135 tons and operate above the stacks of containers at a
height of 18.5 metres. Directed with a satellite tracking system, RTGs are equipped with the latest technology and also provide maximum productivity.
