MISC Berhad Revises Asia-Middle East Service.

MISC Berhad will revise the port rotation and coverage of its Halal Express 2 (HE2) Service linking the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East. The ocean carrier will introduce an additional loop to provide direct connections between the Far East and Southeast Asia region. The revised HE2 rotation, which will begin with the sailing of the Bunga Raya Enam from Qingdao on Jan. 28, will be Qingdao, Pusan, Shanghai, Xiamen, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), Jebel Ali, Dammam, Karachi, Port Kelang, Singapore and back to Qingdao.

The new rotation will discontinue calls at Yokohama and Nagoya, to be replaced with Qingdao and Pusan.

The Malaysia-based carrier will complement these changes by launching the Malaysia-East-Asia-Service (MES) to cater to the growing trade demand within the intra-Asia region.

The MES rotation will be Yokohama, Nagoya, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Jakarta, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and back to Yokohama.

The new loop will deploy five vessels of 1,200 to 1,700 20-foot equivalent units capacity. It will also connect Ho Chi Minh and Jakarta to other MISC services covering the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Australia and New Zealand through relay options at Singapore and Tanjung Pelepas.

The first vessel sailing on the MES is scheduled to be from Yokohama on Jan. 26.
