Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Shkolnik was dismissed by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Kanat Bozumbayev becomes new minister

Kazakh president appoints new energy minister

Kanat Bozumbayev has been appointed as the new Energy Minister of Kazakhstan, according to the presidency of the republic of Kazakhstan on Friday.

According to a statement released by the official site of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President Nursultan Nazarbayev relieved Bozumbayev of his duties as the governor of Pavlodar region and appointed him as the new energy minister of the country, replacing former Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik.

Shkolnik was appointed as the energy minister in 2014. Before that, Shkolnik was the chairman of the Kazakh National Atomic Company Kazatomprom and the Minister of Industry and Trade.
