Operator Ithaca Energy reports today that the BW Athena FPSO has now arrived at the UK field location after completing a refit in the Middle East and the ships has already been hooked up to the STP -submerged turret production - mooring system at the field location.
Currently Ithaca reports that testing of subsea systems is underway, and a testing is underway of the shuttle tanker offloading system, and a production well ramp-up programme is underway.
“Hook-up and infield commissioning activities are ongoing and a further announcement will be made upon delivery of first oil from the field,” Ithaca stated today.
Athena is due to produce from four pre-drilled production wells and a water injection well, tied back to the newly re-fitted BW Athena FPSO in UK block 14/18b.
Oil will be offloaded by shuttle tanker and exported to Scotland's Nigg oil terminal – operated by Ithaca.
