Odessa Port Authority presented current developments in its port and gave details about planned infrastructure projects.

A collaboration agreement was signed by the ports of Antwerp and Odessa in 2009.

Ukraine is strategically located between Europe and Asia. It offers a large local consumer market and has important reserves of raw materials. Flemish exports to Ukraine in 2010 were worth 445 million euros, an increase of 30% compared with the previous year.

Important sectors include among others transport equipment, plastics, rubber, textiles, mineral products, machinery and electrical equipment.
