Norwegian oil and gas finance group HitecVision is teaming up with Danish shipping group J Lauritzen AS to offer the accommodation support vessel Dan Swift to the North Sea market and to build another unit.
Since December 2009 the Dan Swift, owned by Lauritzen, has been operating previously for Statoil and is now working for Petrobras, but boosted with with new cash from HitecVision, Lauritzen is now planning to build new units.
“With the combined operational and technical expertise shared between Lauritzen Offshore and HitecVision, the joint venture will focus on ordering high-end semi submersible ASV’s capable of also serving customers in the North Sea,” the two groups declared today.

Torben Janholt, president and chief executive of Lauritzen says it has been a long-term ambition of the company to build up its offshore activities: “...in particular in the ASV segment, with the right partner and therefore we are very pleased to team up with HitecVision.
