COO of Port of Rotterdam Authority

THE Port of Rotterdam Authority has appointed Ronald Paul, who has spent the last eight years directing the huge Maasvlakte 2 container development project, will assume the role of chief operations officer from September.

Serving COO Thessa Menssen, who will join construction company BAM as CFO on her departure from the port.

 

 As a civil engineer, Mr Paul started in the private sector, then moved to the port authority as an infrastructure specialist in 1985.

 

 Mr Paul then became responsible for land allocation, real estate, contract management and policy on sea harbour dues before becoming director of the Project Organisation Maasvlakte 2.

 

 As of September 1, the Port of Rotterdam Authority board will consist of Paul, Hans Smits (CEO) and Paul Smits (CFO).
