Esteban Pacha, Director General of The International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO) declared his candidacy for the International Maritime Organization Secretary General elections to be held in June 2010.

Esteban Pacha, Director General of The International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO) declared his candidacy for the International Maritime Organization Secretary General elections, which will be held in June 2011.

Emphasizing that there are many things to accomplish in world maritime sector, Esteban Pacha announced his candidacy for the post saying that he believed that the IMO Council will make the best decision in the elections.

Minister of Transportation of Turkey wishes success to Pacha

Esteban Pacha, Director General of IMSO had a chance to meet Binali Y?ld?r?m, the Minister of Transportation of Turkey, who came to London for the WMU Executive Meeting. Binali Y?ld?r?m expressed that during the period which Esteban Pacha was the IMO Representative of Spain, Pacha made considerable contribution to the shipping sector between Turkey and Spain.

ABOUT ESTEBAN PACHA

Esteban Pacha was born in 1962 in Barcelona, Spain. He served in the Spanish Naval Force between the years 1981-1987. Following the position for the Chairmanship of the Port of Ceuto, Esteban Pacha was appointed as the IMO Representative of Spain in 2000.

Since 2007, Esteban Pacha is the Director General of the International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO). At the 5th Golden Anchor Awards Ceremony which was held in Istanbul in June, 2010, Esteban Pacha received the Lifelong Achievement Award. In addition to his mother tongue Spanish, Esteban Pacha can speak French and English.

Captain Pacha appears to be one of the most experienced candidates for the post of Secretary General of IMO after his experience in a similar position since he was elected in 2006 as Director General of IMSO and worked closely with IMO itself and other UN bodies.
