Norden also raised its forecast for full-year earnings before interest and tax to $100m-$325m, from $85m-$325m.
Norden could not be immediately contacted for further details on the transaction, but a broker, who declined to be named, said the two ships involved were the 2002-built , 52,344 dwt Nordflex and 2003-built, 52,441 dwt NordOcean and would have been sold for about $23m and $24m respectively.
Both vessels were expected to be delivered to the undisclosed new owners during the second quarter of 2009.
Norden reportedly sold six bulk carriers earlier this year.
