Ozata Shipyard delivered its 7th of 15 vessels Foca to Izmir metropolitan municipality which will operate on the local routes.
New ferry built by Altınova based Ozata Shipyard, delivered to Izmir metropolitan municipality and has been named Foca.

New build catamaran type of vessel will work in Gulf of Izmir to serve in transportation service. Ozata Shipyard previously delivered Dokuz Eylül, Çakabey, 1881 Atatürk, Soma 301, Dario Moero and Atilla Ilhan ferries.

New vessel Foca, which is solid than steel and lighter than aluminum with lower costs, was built by carbon composite materials.

Fast and Comfortable

Foca  has a 420 passenger capacity and it can reach the speed of 18 miles per hour which will quicken the cycle of ferries in the Golf of İzmir. The ferry has several features such as handicap-friendly design, wi-fi connection, TV and bicycle parking lot which will encourage the usage of bicycles in the city.

The ferry is also pet-friendly, there are special and separate cages for passengers to put their pets in. Foca will start its service right after its trials are finished.
