Palmali strengthens position in Caspian Sea
Palmali Company signed a long-term contract with the company Kazmortransflot to transport crude oil from Aktau port to Neka port (Iran).
The contract envisages using of tankers with a maximum load capacity.
Two months ago the company also won the tender for transportation all the amount of crude oil from Aladja port to Neka. After conducting the tender the long term contract was signed.
In accordance with the expansion of activities in the Caspian Sea in 2009 Palmali managed to bring up the fleet of modern ships of different tonnage to 25 units, covering 60 percent of marine transportation of oil and oil products in the region.
At present, the company's fleet transports from 600,000 to 800,000 tons of crude oil and oil products every month to the Caspian Sea by realizing the flights from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in the direction of Russian and Iranian ports. Also, Palmali company's ships are involved in the export of crude oil and light oil from Astrakhan in the direction of Iranian ports, thereby keeping major cargo traffic.
The company cooperates with all the freight owners in the Caspian region closely, optimizing the export amounts of crude oil and oil products taking into account assumed long-term commitments. In the near future, Palmali company plans to double the amount of freights transported to the Caspian Sea.
