Qatargas delivers first LNG cargo to CNOOC.
Qatargas yesterday delivered its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo at the Fujian terminal in the People's Republic of China to the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). The latest cargo to Fujian terminal which follows a number of Q-Flex cargos at Guangdong Dapeng terminal was delivered on conventional size vessel with a capacity of 140,000 cubic meters.
Ahmed Al Khulaifi, Chief Operating Officer - Commercial and Shipping at QatargasQatargas, said: "China represents a major market for Qatari LNG and we are proud to be able to deliver this cargo safely and on time. Qatargas is very pleased to be playing an increasing role in providing stable energy supplies to China." "LNG has a key role to play in helping governments around the world improve the diversity of their energy supplies. We are pleased with this development which will help to meet the growing demand for energy in China." The State of Qatar is now the world's largest LNG producer and anticipates that China will become one of the world's largest gas markets.
