Russia has not responded to Belarus' request for a gas price reduction on its Russian imports, Andrey Kruglov, Gazprom's deputy chairman of the management committee said on Friday.
According to Russian news agency Tass, Kruglov said that Gazprom is currently operating under the old intergovernmental agreement on exports to Belarus.
Russia is due to offer a gas discount price to Belarus in 2016 for its gas, but so far has not responded to Belarus' request for a reduction, said Kruglov.
"All previous arrangements are in force and consultations are underway," said Kruglov who added that Belarus has appealed to Russia many times for a decreased price for Russian gas, but no decision has been reached to date.
Currently, Minsk pays $142 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas from Russia.
Belarus imports around 21 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, all of which comes from Russia.
