Sovcomflot (SCF) Group, Russia"s largest shipping company, agreed the formation of a strategic partnership with Russia"s major coal exporter ?SUEK? (Siberian Coal Energy Company), Sovcomflot Press Centre informs. The partnership was announced by SCF Sovcomflot CEO, Sergey Frank, on the 14th July 2009 at the 8th Sovcomflot Business Partners Conference in St. Petersburg.
The inaugural step was the recent finalization of a long term time-charter contract for the ice-class panamax bulk carrier ?SCF SUEK?, recently acquired by Sovcomflot (SCF) Group. The vessel will service SUEK"s new coal export terminal in the Bay of Muchke near Vanino, utilizing the Sovcomflot (SCF) Group"s technical management and crewing expertise to cope with the harsh environment conditions of Russia"s far East. This partnership continues SCF Sovcomflot"s strategy of providing long term commitments to its customers for safe and reliable energy transportation.
