Commercial Panama Ship Sank Off Yemeni Coastline
Turkish Shipowner Selay Shipping's a tanker carrying chemical substances sink off the Yemeni island of Socotra in the Indian Ocean in bad weather Wednesday, Yemen's state news agency said.
A commercial Panama-flagged vessel, Alexander C, went down at around 08:50 am Wednesday morning off the Yemeni Socotra Island.
According to navigation sources, the ship came from one of Asian seaports in its way to Europe. It was carrying chemical substances, the sources said.
The sources attributed the incident to bad weather. They affirmed that nineteen crew members were rescued by another passing Panama-flagged ship.
