VLOC, the first China made 300,000 tonnes iron ore transport ship, started its trial trip under the careful maintenance by Nantong Maritime Safety Administration at nine o'clock sharp on December 1st.
VLOC is of 327 meter in length
The ship was entirely designed by NACKS with completely independent intellectual property rights setting a history record on domestic shipbuilding of this type. VLOC is of 327 meter in length, 55 meter in width, 29 meter in molded depth, 21 meter designed draft and with a speed of 14.5 kilometer. There are altogether 6 cargo spaces and each one has only one hatch cover, weighing above 100 tonne. The whole design meets the demand of MARPOL Maritime Agreement and can provide a high quality environment.
