Under the 4-year agreement, Saipem Comercio Maritime will utilize Normand Cutter to support its subsea construction activity worldwide at pre-agreed commercial terms. The finance details of the frame agreement were not disclosed. The construction support vessel Normand Cutter has been stacked since last year, but will pass process of utilization and in June 2017 will head to West Africa, where Saipem will use her for about six months.

Earlier this month, on behalf of a partly-owned company Normand Oceanic, Solstad entered into an agreement with the Mexican company Typhoon Offshore for another of its CSVs, Normand Oceanic. The contract is for three years commencing in May 2017. Normand Oceanic AS is a joint venture company owned by Solstad Offshore and Subsea 7.
The construction support vessel Normand Cutter (IMO: 9231535) was built as an advanced cable and pipelayer ship in 2001 at Ulstein Verft in Norway. The vessel has overall length of 127.00 m, moulded beam of 27.00 m and maximum draft of 7.00 m. The deadweight of the ship is 9,976 DWT and the gross tonnage is 10,979 GRT.
