The International Tank Container Organisation (ITCO) believes that tank containers are the safest, most reliable and efficient means of moving gases and bulk liquids such as oil products, according to reports.
The ITCO has announced plans to unveil fresh industry knowledge on inter-modal tank containers in three specialist presentations to be made at the Transport Logistic 2009 event in Munich on May 12-15.
The presentations are slated to culminate in what is described as a ?ground-breaking? description of how tank containers have a lower carbon footprint than alternative forms of transport such as the traditional oil tanker.
The ITCO is an international trade association promoting the interests of the tank container industry.
The association has set out its mission for tank containers to be the preferred method for transporting bulk liquids, focusing on quality, safety and environmental issues, said ITCO.
ITCO's members consist of manufacturers, lessors, operators, inspection and certification bodies and tanker container service providers.
The common interest of all ITCO members and associated members is to promote and adhere to an industry code of practice and to focus on quality, safety and environmental issues.
