At the 4th Golden Anchor Award Ceremony Mr Binali Y?ld?r?m, the Minister of Transportation stated that Turkish Maritime has covered a significant distance since 2000. Having emphasized that Turkey achieved a growth of 306% in shipbuilding in 4 years, while the global growth remained at %89, Mr Binali Y?ld?r?m expressed that the Turkish shipyards climbed the 5th in world ranking. ? The number of facilities went up from 37 to 154 and 105 facilities entered into service ? said Minister Y?ld?r?m and continued: ? The structural alteration of maritime sector is an important case in Turkey. To consolidate the qualified seafarer staff was one of our most important tasks. Therefore, a special resolution was adopted and we carried out the project aimed to train professional seafarer. If Turkey reached the White List from the Black List, that is not a coincidence. That is an achievement of a team."

After his speech, the Minister Y?ld?r?m bestowed prizes to the seamen who were awarded the Golden Anchor Prizes.
