Shell Greenlights Another Project in the North Sea After Lowering Costs
Royal Dutch Shell Plc approved its second North Sea project in six months, greenlighting a natural gas field that it considered uneconomical to produce from six years ago.

Strike kicks off on seven Shell platforms in the North Sea
Around 400 North Sea workers kicked off a 24-hour strike this morning, protesting pay cuts by the Wood Group on Shell platforms. The strike is the first of its kind in the offshore industry in nearly three decades.

Apache extends Wood Group’s master service agreement in the North Sea
Apache Corp has extended Wood Group’s master service agreement (MSA) at its offshore oil and gas fields in the North Sea, effective immediately. The value of the contract extension was not disclosed.

Container Catches Fire on MSC Ship off Germany
The crew of the 12,400 TEU container ship MSC Katrina reported that one of the containers on board caught fire on Friday, November 20, while the vessel was en route from Antwerp to Hamburg, according to Germany’s Central Command for Maritime Emergencies.

A Dutch general cargo ship sank early Tuesday morning after colliding with an LNG tanker in the North Sea, some 6 miles off the Belgian port of Zeebrugge, Netherlands Coastguard reports.
