Turkey refineries' liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production rose by 55.8 percent to around 83 thousand tons in January 2016, according to the report by Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EMRA) released Thursday.
LPG imports decreased by 6.5 percent to about 257 thousand tons compared to the same month last year, according to the report.
Turkey imports came from seven different countries in January 2016 - Algeria, Russia, the U.S., Kazakhstan, Norway, France and Ukraine.
Turkey's LPG exports decreased by 3.3 percent to about 34 thousand tons in January. Switzerland, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Egypt and Tunisia are among the countries which saw the largest LPG imports from Turkey, the report showed.
In Turkey, approximately 223 thousand tons of auto gas was sold over the same period in 2016. Additionally, 61.7 thousand tons of bottled LPG was sold to Turkish customers as well as over 10 thousand tons of bulk LPG.
