Having been linked with orders in China repeatedly by broking reports over the past five months, Allied Shipbrokers from Greece has finally tied the Turkish owner with a yard.
Allied said in its latest weekly report that Yasa has signed a letter of intent for four 61.000 dwt bulkers. The ships will be built at NACKS, a joint venture yard between COSCO and Kawasaki Heavy- with delivery set for 2019 and into 2020.
Yasa appears to have concluded a very fovourable price for these new ships with Allied reporting they are costing just $24.5m each.
Founded in 1999, the Yasa fleet today is in excess of 20 ships- all bulkers with a range of different sizes from capesize to handysize.
