Turkish shipbuilder launches 4.400-dwt dry bulker, ordered by Albros Shipping.
Aksoy Shipyard (Gelibolu, Turkey) launched on February 23, a multipurpose ?Modulus 3? dry cargo carrier of deadweight of some 4400 tons. The ship was built under contract with Albros Shipping Comp. (the company"s CEO - Raim Alekperov). Marine Engineering Bureau, the ship designer said the Modulus 3 is 89,17 m in length and 15,6 m in width, the ship"s DP - 6,80 m. Class of Russia Maritime Register of Shipping - KM Ice3 R1 AUT3. 4400-dwt in 5.286-m displacement in salt water. When draft 4.50 m ? DWT is about 3420 tons. The volume of cargo tanks - 2066 cub.m.
The single hold of the vessel is suitable for loading operations and the placement of goods without stowage. This feature makes the 003RSD04/ALB03 type ship attractive for the delivery of equipment for the development of the shelf zone of the Caspian Sea. Non-standard cargoes can be delivered directly from any European port or ports in the Persian Gulf along Russian inland waterways to the Caspian Sea.
