Mitsui O.S.K Lines Ltd., operator of the world"s largest merchant fleet, may break even on a pretax basis in its car shipping business during the second half of the fiscal year as vehicle demand recovers, spokesman Hidenori Onuki said in a telephone interview today.
The Nikkei newspaper reported the recovery in profit earlier today. Mitsui O.S.K. lowered its profit forecast by 25 percent last month to 30 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 31.
